In recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month, the community is invited to join a special Proclamation Ceremony on April 1st, 2025, at 11:30 AM in Judge Medlock's Courtroom located at 220 N 4th Street in Van Buren, AR. The event will bring together local leaders and residents to raise awareness about child abuse prevention and demonstrate a collective commitment to protecting children in our communities.
During the ceremony, mayors from various towns in the area will read proclamations officially declaring April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in their respective municipalities. These proclamations serve as a public acknowledgment of the importance of preventing child abuse and supporting the well-being of children throughout the year.
“We are excited to bring together local leaders and community members to honor the efforts to prevent child abuse and raise awareness about the impact it has on children and families,” said Melanie Allen, Executive Director of CASA of Crawford County. “This event is an important reminder that preventing child abuse is a shared responsibility, and together, we can make a difference in the lives of children.”
The ceremony is open to the public, and all community members are encouraged to attend and show their support for child abuse prevention efforts. Local organizations and advocates will also be on hand to provide additional resources and information about how individuals can get involved in helping prevent child abuse and supporting families in need.
For more information about the event or to learn more about Child Abuse Prevention Month, please contact Melanie Allen at 479-208-7119 or melanie@21casa.org.
